Abex offers a state-of-the-art RF and microwave design, verification and measurement service.

We specialise in component characterisation, board-level design and circuit simulation techniques.  As a result of working directly with EEsof Inc. (now Agilent EEsof) in the early 1990's, we have established advanced design methodology and measurement techniques which result in rapid design cycles and enhanced manufacturing yields.  With extensive experience of the industries most advanced simulation tools including Libra, ADS and Microwave Office, we are experts in this field.

We currently use, and strongly recommend the exciting  Microwave Office suite from AWR.  Equipped with the state-of-the-art Anritsu 37000 series vector network analyser, our lab is ready for test and verification work to 20GHz.  This powerful capability is further enhanced by a GPIB link to Softplot, the industry leading measurement presentation software.  This link also allows the direct comparison of measured and simulated data within MW Office, for precise design optimisation.

We have experience of active and passive component characterisation, including linear and non-linear devices.  A particular speciality is the area of balanced and multi-port devices, e.g. the SAW filter and balun components popular in mobile communications equipment.  We have also developed high linearity amplifiers for applications such as Pi/4 and GSM EDGE using load-pull techniques.
