Terms and Conditions - for eBay Sales Only
General
By bidding for our eBay items, you are accepting our terms and conditions.
The item shown and described will be the actual item you receive, unless stated otherwise. Where photographs show other equipment, cables, supports etc. used to demonstrate the item offered, these are generally NOT included.
We occasionally offer items that are "untested" or "as is", and where this is the case it will be clearly stated in the advert. "Untested" or "as is" does not mean the item is known to be broken or useless; it means we have not tested it, often because we can't or it is not practical. Please bid accordingly, we can accept no responsibility if such items are later found to be faulty.
Feedback
We are available by email and telephone during normal office hours. If you find any reason to be dissatisfied with your purchase, we would appreciate the opportunity to resolve the matter before leaving feedback on eBay. Once you have left feedback it cannot be removed, and this will not help with finding a solution.
Please read our terms and conditions in full. Take time to understand what you are buying, and how we will handle your purchase.
It is not reasonable to complain later about something that was obvious from the start.
Payment
We will always require that full cleared payment has been received prior to the dispatch of goods. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the correct net amount is paid in a timely manner by one of our accepted payment methods.
Preferred Methods
We prefer payment by bank transfer, cheque or postal order. Please support us by using our preferred payment methods.
Bank Payments
The use of direct bank transfer is our preferred payment method for all transactions. Transfers must be made in UK Pounds. Bank details provided upon request. International transfers under £250 will attract a £12 handling fee. Domestic (UK) transfers are free.
Cheques
We accept cheques in UK Pounds drawn on UK banks ONLY. Cheques drawn on foreign banks and/or in foreign currencies are NOT accepted.
Cash
We accept cash payments (in UK Pounds, Euros and US Dollars), only where items are collected in person.
Paypal
eBay now requires all sellers to offer Paypal (May 2008). We strongly disapprove of this situation, which increases our operating costs and erodes our trading flexibility.
Please be aware that if you pay using Paypal, the following restrictions will apply to your purchase:
Your account must be VERIFIED. No exceptions.
Shipping to CONFIRMED Paypal address ONLY. No exceptions.
Shipping via insured and traceable post/courier ONLY. No exceptions.
No combined shipping discounts.
No "non-eBay" items.
No collection in person.
Please be aware that as per Paypal recommendations, we may return your payment if we have reason to suspect fraud. Please note that we no longer accept Paypal outside eBay.
Other Methods
We do not currently accept any other methods of payment (Western Union, international money orders, etc.).
Dispatch
Domestic (UK) Deliveries
For domestic (UK) deliveries, we will usually use (Royal Mail) Recorded Delivery for low value items, or Special Delivery for higher value items. Large or heavy items will be delivered by courier. Please ask for a quotation: esales@abex.co.uk.
International Deliveries
We will usually use (Royal Mail) "International Signed For" for most small items, and either a courier or freight service for high value, large or heavy items. Please ask for a quotation: esales@abex.co.uk.
Packaging
For environmental reasons, we recycle packing materials wherever and whenever it is possible. Unfortunately, this does not mean that recycled materials are "free".
Delivery Time
We post eBay items once per week, usually on Thursdays. Please bear this in mind when making your purchase.
Fedex, UPS
Due to problems with missed pick-ups and inaccurate billing, we will no longer ship by Fedex or UPS. No exceptions.
Warranty
Where stated ONLY, we offer 30 days warranty, subject to the following terms:
Goods returned for refund will be accepted only where our advance agreement is obtained. You MUST email us first.
Goods returned as faulty will be replaced/refunded/repaired at our discretion. This excludes damage deemed to have been caused by misuse.
In general we will not refund postage charges incurred by warranty claims.
No other warranty whatsoever is offered or implied.
Returns
All eBay sales are 'final' and we do not accept returns
Safety
We cannot accept responsibility for personal injury or damage to property resulting from the use or misuse of items we supply; whatsoever or howsoever caused. Electronic, scientific and other technical equipment may present danger to inexperienced, untrained or careless users. Such dangers include, but are not limited to, electrical shock, fire & burns, ocular damage, asphyxiation, back or muscle strains etc. It is the buyer/operators responsibility to ensure the use of correct procedures, and the safety of all personnel.
EMC
We do not test the Electromagnetic Compliance of surplus items. Where items are to be incorporated into products for resale, it should not be assumed that such items are compliant with any of the applicable EMC regulations (e.g. FCC or European EMC Directive).
RoHS
It is unlikely that surplus items would be RoHS compliant. For this reason, they should not be incorporated into new designs for resale. Certain exceptions apply. You are advised to check current legislation where this could present a problem.
