The Wavetek 4032 is one of the most popular and best known test sets for mobile radio testing. This unit is in fair cosmetic condition, but fails self-test as shown below. There are spurious modulation sidebands on the RX test carrier which may indicate a PLL or modulator fault, although the unit does lock over the full RF frequency range. In TX test mode the demod level reads high, which is likely caused by the same underlying fault. Probably a simple repair, but no time to investigate.
