This unit is a special high speed, high voltage avalanche step generaor that produces a minimum 2kV step into 50 ohms, with a PRF of up to 50KHz. We tested this unit with an HP 54120 12GHz sampling oscilloscope and a total of 80dB attenuation. See below. The rise time is shown to be around 100pS, and the peak voltage is >2000V into 50 ohms - a peak power level of 80kW!. The main output polarity is negative.
